When cataloguing a continuing resource, 008 positions 07-10 contain the beginning date of the item. If the item bears both a date of publication and an indication of the period covered by the contents (chronological designation) the latter is used in the Date 1 field. When the beginning date covers more than one calendar year, use the last named year, e.g.
